Avoiding Federal Grant Pitfalls

Are you or your organization new to Federal grants? Are you still researching grant opportunities or has your organization just received its first Federal award or subaward? Even if you have years of experience with Federal grants, you may still fall victim to common grant writing and grants management pitfalls. This session will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about Federal grants and explain how to avoid major pitfalls.

This session will examine each phase of the grant lifecycle. You will learn about prospecting, evaluating grant opportunities (including deciding which to pursue), and post-award compliance considerations. After attending this session, you will be able to identify at least six potential pitfalls associated with Federal grants and outline strategies for steering clear of each problem area.

This session is recommended for all attendees. The program level is overview. There are no educational requirements or prerequisites for attending. Advance preparation is not required. Attendees can earn up to 2.0 hours of CPE in the field of specialized knowledge (nonprofits and government) for completing this session.
