Increasing Capacity, Investing in Staff

The most important investment a grant-funded organization can make is in its staff, but far too often, agencies hire the wrong people. In this session, participants will discuss best practices for hiring the “right” people for the “right” job. They will also learn how to retain staff members and develop stronger teams. Turnover can be costly to a program or agency. Cultivating and investing in staff members can be a sound long-term strategy.

By participating in this workshop, you will:

  • Gain insight into engaging employees.
  • Explore ways to invest in staff.
  • Learn ways to hire right.

This session is recommended for all attendees.  No specific educational background is required or recommended, and there are no prerequisites for attendance. Advance preparation is not required.  The program level is overview. Attendees can earn up to 1.0 hour of CPE credit in the field of specialized knowledge (nonprofits and government).
