Fraud: Just the Basics

Financial fraud often occurs in grant-funded organizations due to lack of resources or knowledge necessary to implement appropriate controls.  It is an established fact that the presence of anti-fraud controls reduces significantly both the amount and duration of occurrences.  This session is designed to provide the attendee with a basic understanding of fraud and specifically assist in identifying areas of heightened risk and controls to mitigate those risks.  After attending this session, you will be able to identify at least five common indicators of possible fraud and describe countervailing controls.

This session is recommended for all attendees.  No prerequisites for attendance exist, and no advance preparation is required.  The program experience level is basic.  Attendees can earn up to one (1.0) hour of CPE credit in the field of auditing (governmental).
