Grant Writing Accelerator: A Half-Day Intensive (Part 1)
Grant Writing Accelerator: A Half-Day Intensive (Part 1)
July 16, 2026 8:30 AM 10:00 AM Symphony Ballroom
Designed for attendees seeking to improve their grant-writing skills and generate more competitive proposals, this three-hour, two-part session focuses on the three most commonly misunderstood components of grant proposals:
- Goals and Objectives
- Needs Statement
- Program Description
Through lecture, examples, and hands-on writing activities, participants will explore how to develop and write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals. We highly recommend that participants bring examples of recently declined proposals so that they may use existing needs statements, program descriptions, and goals and objectives in the hands-on writing exercises.
During this special double session:
- Participants will identify at least three distinct sources of data to support their community’s needs.
- Participants will explore how to break down program components into clear, compelling program descriptions.
- Participants will review SMART objectives and write their own for optional instant feedback during class.
The grant writing intensive will use varied instructional techniques and resources to keep participants engaged. These include sample documents and templates, informal polls, and on-the-spot evaluation and coaching of shared writing samples. This one-of-a-kind training will be led by instructors with a combined 55+ years of grant writing and fundraising experience.
